Before You Delete
A short checklist so you don't lose anything you may want later:
- Cancel any active premium plan separately. Deleting your account does not cancel an ongoing payment or subscription.
- Export your data first if you want a copy of your learning history. Email support@prepnus.com requesting an export — we send a JSON archive within 7 business days.
- Note your referral code if you plan to share it. The code is retired once your account is deleted.
- If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must email us from their own address authorising the deletion.
How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion two ways. Both follow the same verification and timeline. The email path is recommended because it gives you a written confirmation trail.
Option 1 — Email (Recommended)
- Email support@prepnus.com from the email address registered to your PrepNus account.
- Subject line: Account Deletion Request
- Include your registered email and registered phone number in the body. (Sending from the same address is itself the primary identity check.)
- We reply within 48 hours to confirm receipt and verify identity.
- Account is fully deleted within 7 business days of verification.
If you cannot access your registered email, see “Lost access to your email” below.
Option 2 — In the App
- Open PrepNus and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings → Delete Account.
- Confirm. The same 7-business-day deletion pipeline runs server-side.
You can still email support@prepnus.com within 48 hours to cancel the request before it is processed.
What Gets Deleted
Every personal record tied to your account is permanently removed:
- Personal info — name, email address, phone number, profile photo
- Account & profile — display name, exam-type preferences, referral code, settings
- Learning history — all MCQ and written attempts, scores, time-spent records
- Mock exam results — attempt records, per-section analytics, written submissions and uploaded photos
- Engagement data — streaks, XP, badges, leaderboard rankings, daily activity
- Bookmarks & notes — saved questions, vocabulary lists, annotations, highlights
- Course & lesson progress — completion records, video watch state
- Devices & sessions — registered devices, active sessions, push-notification tokens
- Premium entitlements — access grants tied to your account
What Is Retained (and Why)
To meet legal, security, and accounting obligations, a small set of records may persist after your account is deleted. None of it is used to identify or contact you.
- Anonymised aggregate stats — question-level difficulty and discrimination data, with no link back to you, used to improve content quality.
- Security & sign-in logs — retained for fraud prevention. Within 90 days of account deletion, IP addresses are truncated (last octet removed) and user identifiers are nulled.
- Payment & tax records — if you made a purchase, transaction records are retained for the period required by Bangladesh tax and accounting law (currently up to 6 years), in a separate finance system.
- Records subject to legal hold — anything we are required to preserve by court order, regulatory request, or to enforce our Terms.
Anonymised and legally-required records cannot be deleted on request. Everything else listed under “What Gets Deleted” is purged.
Timeline
Change Your Mind
You can cancel a deletion request any time within the first 48 hours by replying to our confirmation email. Once Day 7 begins, deletion is in motion and cannot be reversed.
Lost Access to Your Email
If you no longer have the email address registered to your PrepNus account, email support@prepnus.com from any address and include:
- Your registered phone number
- The approximate date you created the account
- Any details that confirm ownership (last exam attempted, premium order ID, etc.)
We verify by OTP to the registered phone before processing.
Children and Guardians
PrepNus is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has created an account, email support@prepnus.com — we delete it within 7 business days at no charge and without identity verification beyond your own email.
For users aged 13–17, the deletion request must be authorised by a parent or legal guardian emailing from their own address.
Important Policy Notes
- Deletion is permanent and irreversible. Signing up again with the same email starts a fresh account with zero history.
- Deletion does not cancel any active payment or premium plan — cancel separately if applicable.
- Premium access, XP, streaks, and badges cannot be transferred to another account before deletion.
- Anonymised aggregate analytics (with no PII) are not removed because they cannot be linked back to you.
- If you owe any unpaid balance, the account remains in a frozen state until the balance is settled or written off, then is deleted.
